Open studio – day one

FndoukWe are a happy and weary group this evening. The first day of our open studio was such a great success. Many of our M’allems along with other friends from Fez came to visit along with the people of Sefrou. Our corner of the Medina was a buzz with people moving between the spaces, drinking tea, eating pastries and chatting about the work.

One of many wonderful visitors today were Jess’ neighbors, a Mother and her and three daughters (all under 7 years old.) Here is a picture of two of the daughters Miriam and Sanaas, it was their first exhibition. What a great step. Sanaa ( in Mums winkle-picker, high-heeled shoes) was so inspired by Wilhelmina Garcia’s project that she came back a few times with small bags of garbage she had collected.
